Obituary of Sigmund Marcus

Liberty, NY

Mr. Sigmund Marcus, a resident of Liberty, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the Achieve Center for Nursing and Rehab. He was 91. The son of the late Jacob and Tillie Backman Marcus, Sigmund was born on October 9, 1929 in the Bronx.
 

Sigmund was a mechanic and member of the Merchant Marines. He was also a devoted husband and father of his three children; Anita Salaun, Howard Marcus, and Edwin Marcus.
 

Survivors include his son; Edwin Marcus and stepson; Jeffrey Weiner, grandchildren; Michelle Cabello-Settle and her wife Paulina Cabello-Settle, Eddie Marcus and his wife Shawna Marcus, Chantal Salaun and her husband Steven Visceglia, Nicole Salaun, and Jean luc Salaun, as well as his great grandchildren; John Marcus, Wyatt Marcus, James Eckart IV, Rene Salaun, and Nora Kehoe Salaun.

Sigmund was predeceased by his wife; Geraldine Marcus and his daughter; Anita Salaun.

A graveside service with full military honors will take place on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 11:00am at the Sullivan County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road in Liberty NY.
