Obituary of Lawrence A. Wechsler

Boynton Beach, FL - Formerly of Monticello, NY

Lawrence A. Wechsler was born in Monticello, NY in 1932 and passed away on November 16, 2022, in Florida at the age of 90 where he was a resident for many years.  Larry was the son of George and Sylvia Wechsler and younger brother to the late Barbara Hoffman. 

Larry resided in Monticello, NY for many years.  He was married to the late Harriet Wechsler for 61 years. Larry is survived by his four children, Daniel, Suzanne, Jeffrey, and Neal, and four incredible grandchildren, Rachelle, Elliot, Elizabeth, and Alexandra. 

 

Larry was a Jewish War Veteran.  He also volunteered his time with different organizations including as a Boy Scout Leader, he was active in Kiwanis for many years including serving as a President of Kiwanis, and most importantly he was on the Board of the Landfield Avenue Synagogue for many years including serving at one point as the Vice President.  Larry had owned and operated Wechsler Contracting in Monticello until he retired to Boynton Beach.

 

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at 11:00am at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY 12701. Burial will immediately follow at the Landfield Avenue Synagogue Cemetery, Thompsonville Road, Monticello.
