Obituary of Jay Kinsbruner

JAY KINSBRUNER MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA Jay Kinsbruner, Professor Emeritus of Latin American History, Queens College, CUNY, author of several works on Spanish America, including, The Spanish American Independence Movement, Not of Pure Blood and Petty Capitalism in Spanish America, died on October 6, 2007 in Mt. Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach, Florida. He was 68. At the time of his death, he was the Editor of the Encyclopedia of Latin American History and Culture. The loving son of Florence Reitman Kinsbruner and the late Mac Kinsbruner, the beloved husband of Karen, adored father of Jennifer (Jeff) and Mieca, cherished brother of Mickey Kinsbruner (Donna) and sister Susan Pashkow (Paul), brothers-in-law Dr. Tommy Hillman (Nosrat) and Sam Hillman (Joy), son-in-law of Lila Hillman, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be missed terribly. Funeral services will be held today, Monday, October 8th at 11:30 am, Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway Monticello, NY.
