Obituary of Dr. Alan Arnold Greenbaum

Liberty, NY

Dr. Alan Greenbaum, beloved husband of Dina, devoted father of David, Elizabeth and Abigail, loving grandfather to Naomi, Henry, Ezra and Louis, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 30, 2023. He was 79 years old. The only child of Henry and Else (Hess) Greenbaum, and dedicated stepson of Selma Eisig Greenbaum, Dr. Greenbaum was born in London, England and immigrated to America as a young boy, growing up on a farm in Toms River, NJ.  After his training, he spent 48 years in Sullivan County serving the entire community, from Roscoe to Wurtsboro and Callicoon to Napanoch, as "a simple country doctor." 

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 11:00am at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY 12701. Burial will immediately follow at the Ahavath Israel Synagogue Cemetery, Hysana Road, Liberty, NY. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.
