I first met Glenna when working in the elementary building. She was warm and passionate. I remember her coming to my room to watch me with my kids do a word wall lesson my first year teaching second grade. She was so positive and excited that it was catchy. She made me feel good.
It was very sad to hear of her illness and her passing. Glenna is not someone who can be forgotten but will be remembered by many in their hearts. My deepest condolences to her family.

I was so sorry to hear of Glenna's passing. I first met Glenna when we were in high school in the 60's. I too went to Albany, and then New Paltz. Imagine my surprise when I moved back to Sullivan Co. in the 80's, started teaching in Liberty, and met up with her again! It was great to reminisce with her. I will always remember Glenna's smile and her strong spirit. She was so proud of her family. My thoughts are with you. Joy

For many years my entire extended family spent summers at Stieglitz's. Some of the sweetest memories were spent with Glenna in her vegetable garden, where my son Douglas, now 31 and a father, and I would pick great fresh food while chatting and spending time together with Glenna. Another is of Matthew, now 26, climing onto Dick's tractor which was parked just off to the side in front of their house. He couldn't have been more than 2, and I can still here Glenna shouting to me, don't worry, Randye, Matt's here on the tractor. It always seemed like we were all family when we were there...There are many more memories, too many to write. May she take her place among the Angels to watch over all. Amen

Part of my life experience was going to Poley's Shoe Store on N Main Street in Libery and seeing the high spirited Glenna. Her parents were always so nice, as well. I remember Glenna as such a positive person and we graduated high school together in the class of '65. It is with sad fondness that I remember her as I was so sorry that I did not see her at our last class reunion.
I give my sincere condolences to her family in this difficult time. Stanley Baumann

I am a former classmate of Glenna's. We were in school together from kindergarten through high school. During the summer of 1970 we both began working at Sullivan County Department of Social Services in Liberty. During that summer we became friends and often went to lunch and socialized together. I found out what a warm wonderful person she was. I am saddened by the news of her passing and wish to send my condolences to her family.

So sorry to hear about Glenna. We grew up within a few blocks of each other and graduated the same year. We enjoyed many great times together, including Girl Scout camp. May you be comforted in having had her in your lives.
Sincerely,
Sharon

Glenna was a wonderful person and I have many fond memories growing up in Liberty. Glenna was the first girl I ever kissed, it was at Blueberry Hill day camp. Glenna will be sorely missed by all that knew her.

It’s always so sad when someone we love passes. But when it is someone with such elegance, kindness, intelligence and compassion, we all weep. I met Glenna when she assisted the Liberty School District improve their educational needs by incorporating technology in the classroom. She was a champion at learning how to use the computer for sound educational practices. Always willing to lend her support, I will forever remember Glenna’s joy of teaching, her beloved comments for her husband Dick and her delight in traveling to the track to encourage her horses. It was an honor to have known Glenna. My deepest sympathy goes out to all those that Glenna has touched.

Glenna brought a light and a joy into the hearts of all that knew her. She was a shinning star that helped to guide the paths of countless children along their journey. Glenna made a difference to so many in a world filled with such indifference. I am a better person for having known Glenna Stieglitz.

Glenna and I shared the same birthdate. She was one of those "seasoned teachers" who welcomed an older rookie into Liberty 16 years ago.
Glenna and I also worked together on the technology Wave through BOCES and spent time with our colleagues laughing over middle age and the trials and tribulations of teaching. Farewell to a real classy lady.
