Obituary of Leslie Joel Sharoff

LESLIE JOEL SHAROFF MONTICELLO, NY Leslie "Les" Joel Sharoff, real estate developer and private investigator, a life-long resident of Monticello, New York, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 16, 2008. He was 66 years old. Leslie was born in Monticello, New York on June 2, 1942 to the late Lillian and Jacob Sharoff. He was a member of the Associated Licensed Detectives of New York and of the American Polygraph Association. Leslie is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Pamela Sharoff; his brother, Steven, and wife, Nancy, and niece, Morgan; his mother-in-law, Anne Gilbert, his sister-in-law, Melody Taschmann, and her two sons, Chance and Win, his Aunt Roz, as well as, many cousins. Leslie was a unique individual. Many of his friends and acquaintances always thought he was larger than life. He was a sensitive, vibrant, and good-hearted person who left an impression on everybody he met. His numerous good deeds went unrecorded, but will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved him. His interests were wide and varied, including photography, metal sculpture creation, fishing, nutrition, reading, and of late the study of Kaballah (the study of Jewish mysticism). Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 10am at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home Inc. 388 Broadway Monticello, NY. Rabbi Ben Zion Chanowitz will officiate. Burial will be in the Landfield Ave Synagogue Cemetery Thompson Rd Monticello, NY.
