I write this with a heavy heart. I worked with Dr. Katzowitz for most of my 37 years at Mount Clemens General (McLaren-Macomb). He was a wonderful doctor, a kind soul and a good friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Your grief is shared my many. With sincere personal sorrow.

A SAD GOODBYE TO A DEAR FRIEND AND FELLOW COLLECTOR. MY VISITS TO LEW AT HIS HOME AS WELL AS HE TO MINE ARE FILLED WITH FOND MEMORIES. AS A BUSY PROFESSIONAL LEW ALWAYS HAD TIME FOR KIND WORDS AND GOOD DISCUSSIONS,BOTH AS A DOCTOR AND COLLECTOR. A LITTLE INJECTION OF HUMOR WAS ALWAYS EXPECTED,AND NEVER DISAPPOINTING. AN OLD SCHOOL GENTLEMAN TO SAY THE VERY LEAST! MY LIFE HAS BEEN BETTERED TO HAVE KNOWN YOU LEW. RAY PETRY

To the Katzowitz family, My heart is heavy for you all. Your father was a very kind and gentle man. He always welcomed us into his home and treated everyone with love, respect and as family. Lew was a long time friend and fellow collector of antiques. He will be greatly missed. I can recall all the wonderful times we spent just talking and trading stories. Lew was very generous in spirit and shared his great knowledge freely. I fell privileged to have known him and feel with greater privilege that he was my friend.
