Obituary of Allen Bloom

Allen Bloom, of Monticello, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 6, 2015 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 85 years old. The son of the late Morris and Sarah Wosk Bloom, Allen was born on December 1, 1930 in the Bronx. Allen proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps in Korea during the Korean War. He was truly dedicated to his career with the U.S. Postal Service and to each of the members of his family. He will be deeply missed by his family. Allen is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Isabelle, his Son, Steven (Jane), Daughters: Susan Glassman ( Frank), Diane Bloom; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Morris and Sarah (Wosk) Bloom as well as his brother Morton. Allen’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Catskill Regional Medical Center for their care and kindness. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday December 8, 2015 at 10:00AM at the Temple Sholom Cemetery, South Woods Road, Monticello, NY with Rabbi Michelle Medwin Officiating.
