Obituary of Lillian "Lilly" Abramson

It's with great heartache and sadness that we announce the passing of Lillian "Lilly" Abramson of Kauneonga Lake, NY on Monday, January 9, 2017, with her family by her side. She was 92. The daughter of the late Jenny and George Bloom, Lillian was born and raised in The Bronx. She later moved to Brooklyn when she married her husband, Leon. She was a housewife for her family and even held small part-time clerical jobs in which she loved to brag about. Lillian always dreamed of being a nurse one day. Lillian's witty demeanor will never be forgotten, especially when she was passionate about something. Everyone who met her immediately remembered her and saw her for her astounding beauty as well as her exquisite soul. She had a large heart and always put others' best interests before her own, especially her family's. She will be truly missed. Lillian is survived by her three children Larry Abramson of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Mona and her husband Steve Karasik of Kauneonga Lake, and Jinni and her husband Clarence Reeves of Narrowsburg, her grandchildren Shaun and his wife Sarah, Rinele, Jarryd, Lee, and Lexi; and her great- granddaughter Mikayla, as well as many adoring nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Leon, her parents George and Jenny, her children Stuart and Sylvia, as well as her siblings Etta Harris, Rae Tarter, and Sammy Bloom. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 10:00AM at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home Inc, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY with Rabbi Endre Stamler Officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Mount Judah Cemetery, 81-14 Cypress Avenue, Ridgewood, NY 11385.
