Mom, You left us March 24, 2017. You left behind your mother, brother, 4 kids, grand children, great grandson, 2 daughter in laws, nieces, nephews, former colleagues, and countless friends and family. Although we know you are no longer in pain, you are not suffering, and can't feel the pain of the hearts you left, everybody listed above lost more than Zena Cohen Walter Nittel, we all lost a very good friend and advocate. We will feel the pain everyday until our dieing day, you will live forever in our hearts, and for your children, you will live in our soul and in our skeleton because the backbone we developed was given to us by you. So to a wonderful woman, a best friend, mine, Michelle, David, and Jeffrey's mother, we wish you goodbye and like you would say "Until we meet again". We love you and miss you. Love me and Aimee, and all of your family and friends. Thank you for my life, and always being there for me.

I will always remember Zena--a "rough around the edges", but kind, loving and hard-working angel. I knew her in her years working in the doctors' office, and grew to love her honesty and integrity. She will be truly missed. My deepest condolences to her family.

Bernie and I extend our condolence and heartfelt sympathy on the passing of your beloved Zena.
It was obvious from the first time we met her that she was a very kind, caring and family oriented woman whose love of family extended to and included my son Lee.
Keep all the good memories of Zena close in your hearts and she will be with you always.

To all the Walter Family, I was so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. The Kroeger Family on Greenview Ave. were neighbors of Zena's. Many decades have passed since I saw Zena, but my memories are so palpable. Zena gave me my first job, babysitting Ira & Michelle. My brothers&sisters have been sharing our memories of her as well. She was such a good friend to my Mom&so supportive. Zena would come over frequently to have coffee & a cigarette with my Mom,(Mom didn't smoke) she even talked my Mom into letting me smoke at 13. She had a great red convertible Fairlane and used to let me drive it with her, underage of course. Especially touching was when the youngest Kroeger was off to kindergarten and my parents couldn't afford much, Zena bought my sister 3-4 brand new outfits to wear,
my Mom was very touched by her generosity. She was so kind and sweet to all of us, and will always appreciate her. My sister's and I still use one of Zena's favorite lines, "What's doin"? She cracked her gum loud, she polished her nails beautifully, and wore an array of pastel colored shirt-dressess. She was a tiny one to us, but a big heart. I am grateful that our neighborhood was blessed with her. May the good memories and love comfort all of you. Peace be with her, and all of you.
God Bless You all.
