Obituary of Estelle Davidoff
Estelle Davidoff, formerly of the area, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Somers Manor Nursing Home, after suffering a devastating stroke two years ago.
She, along her late husband, Abe Davidoff, to whom she was married since 1954 were the longtime owner-operators of JAJED Ceramics and previously Sulco Provisions, both in Monticello, NY. She was the assistant librarian at Monticello High School for many years and was active in local Workman’s Circle activities.
She was a beloved mother to Jack Davidoff and Julia Vosler, a beloved grandmother to Victoria Vosler, Leslie Davidoff, Irene Davidoff, Alexandra Vosler, and Madeline Davidoff. She was a beloved sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother and friend.
A family statement reads: “Estelle was an incredibly strong woman with a huge heart and who set a good example for many others. Her strength will forever live in our hearts.”
A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday December 18 at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY 12701. Burial will immediately follow at the Workman Circle #610 Cemetery, Thompsonville Road, Monticello.
