Obituary of Elaine Sussman

Elaine Sussman, a long-time Liberty resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Hebrew Home in Valhalla, NY. She was 88. The daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Snitofsky) Klass, Elaine was born in Brooklyn on November 28, 1926. She was the widow of Moe Sussman, who passed away in 1981. Elaine worked in the resort industry for more than four decades, first as the manager of the family-owned Klass Hotel in Parksville, and later as the front office manager at Brown’s Hotel in Loch Sheldrake. She was also a member of Congregation Ahavath Israel in Liberty. Elaine is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey and his wife Melita of Scarsdale and Gary and his wife Rosemary of Highland Mills, her one sister, Bernice, and four grandchildren, Jared, Brett, Marli and Brynn, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Walter and sister, Fay. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 11:00AM at the Ferndale Synagogue Cemetery in Parksville, NY.
