Obituary of Helen I. Kaplan

Helen Kaplan, a long time resident of South Fallsburg, NY passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017. Born in Jersey City, NJ on June 12, 1923, Helen spent her childhood years between Miami Beach, The Bronx, and The Catskill Mountains. Helen was a devoted daughter to her mother Celia, with whom she ran the Roselia House for many years. Helen married the love of her life, Moe Kaplan and settled in South Fallsburg where her son, William was born in 1958. Helen was a member of Haddasah and Fallsburg Hebrew Association. A wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, she will be remembered for her kindness and good nature. Helen was predeceased by Moe in 1979. She is survived by her son, William and his wife Jodi, of Montclair, NJ as well as her grandchildren, Maxwell (16) and Julia (12). Helen adored her grandchildren and felt extremely blessed that she had become a grandmother, long after she had given up hope that her son would give her any. A graveside funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 11:00AM at the South Fallsburg Hebrew Association Cemetery, Marsh Road, Glen Wild, NY with Rabbi Yakkov Barros officiating.
